Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” (number-two), Dwight Yoakam’s “Heart Like Mine” and Kacey Musgraves’ “Merry Go ‘Round” are the only country songs on Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Songs of 2012 list.

The magazine calls T’s record-breaking hit “a perfect three-minute teen tantrum about country girls getting mad at high-strong indie boys … it’s a stadium-chant breakup song that may have less to do with the actual guy it’s about than with the massive raging-cowgirl audience Taylor has led to the pinnacle of the music world.”
