BEYONCE: Lip Synced?

(Photo: Kevin Dietsch/Landov)

Did Beyonce lip sync the national anthem at yesterday’s Inauguration?

It certainly looks that way, as the Times of London is claiming that despite her energetic performance, Bey was “lip-syncing to a pre-recorded backing track.” For evidence, the Times quotes a spokesman for the Marine Corps Band, who told says that it's “standard procedure to record a backing track, and Beyonce decided shortly before her performance to rely on the studio version rather than risk singing it live on the Capitol.”

If Beyonce did lip synch, it wouldn’t be the first time. Back in 2009 she came under criticism for allegedly lip syncing her Broadway tribute at the Oscars.

THE DAMMIT DOLL IS THE LATEST IN ANGER MANAGEMENT TOYS

Stuffed fabric dolls called "Dammit Dolls" are reportedly selling like hotcakes. The 12-inch doll is meant to be an "anger-release" tool but some psychologists have said the doll encourages aggressive and violent behavior. Nancy Lewis, the vice president of sales for Dammit Doll, LLC explains, "We're not out to solve the world's problems or make any statements, or promote anything except 'Here's a great doll.' It's a fun impulse item, and it makes people laugh when they pick it up and read the poem [that comes attached on the doll]. Everybody wants one. It's a feel-good item." One retailer selling the dolls at his store -- The Paper Merchant -- in Naples, Florida, said, "They're selling like crazy. It's a stupid thing, like a pet rock, that you get somebody when you don't know what else to give them. I don't think it's a violence thing really. They are definitely fun." The doll costs about $15.
