The Carrie Diaries Premiere Date Announced

The highly anticipated midseason CW show, The Carrie Diaries, finally has its premiere date. The show will make its debut on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at 8 PM. The Carrie Diaries is a prequel of sorts to HBO’s Sex and the City and features a 1980s Carrie Bradshaw and the first love of her life: Manhattan. Fellow CW show 90210 will move to 9 PM when the freshman series premieres.
Taylor & Conor: Ex-Couple May Reunite At RFK Gala
Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy broke things off weeks ago, but her love for the Kennedy family is still burning strong. Things may not be over for the couple, who dated for only three months, as the two are likely to run into each other at the RFK Gala on Dec. 4.
Swift is still in contact with Conor, and she's remained very close to the Kennedy family, who have publicly professed their adoration for her as well. It's been reported that Swift's hectic schedule promoting her new album, "Red," was one of the reasons the couple decided to spilt. The gala could be the meeting they need to start their romance off again, if Conor is able to leave Deerfield Academy -- since it'll be a school night after all.
TMZ reported that the pop star still plans on going through with the $4.5 million real estate deal she signed off on over the summer for a mansion close to the Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port, Mass -- right across the street from Ethel, who said, when asked if Swift is Kennedy material, "We should be so lucky."
Gabrielle Giffords Shooter Jared Loughner Sentenced to Life in Prison

Jared Loughner, the man who killed six people and wounded 13 – including Gabrielle Giffords – in a 2011 shooting spree outside of a Tuscon, Ariz., grocery store, was sentenced on Thursday to seven consecutive life terms and 140 years in prison without parole.
"Her life has been forever changed ... immeasurably altered," Giffords's husband, retired astronaut, Mark Kelly, said in court on Thursday with his wife by his side. "Every day is a continual struggle to do those things she was once so ... good at."
On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Larry Burns said that six of Loughner's life sentences represent the six slain victims, and one represents the attempted assassination of Giffords, according to CNN.

Millicent Owuor, 20, named her newly born twins Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, saying she dubbed the first twin Barack and the second one Mitt to mirror the results of the election.
Another mother, who named her baby after the president, said she wanted her newborn to grow up to have the same successful traits as Obama.
Obama has been elevated to rock-star status in the East African nation, which named a beer, "President," after him during the 2008 election.
The name Barack means "blessed," and Obama was the given name of the president's great-grandfather, which became his grandfather's surname.
Walmart's 'Black Friday' to Start 2 Hours Earlier
Last year Black Friday became Black Midnight. This year, Walmart is instituting Black Thanksgiving Dessert Hour. That's right: The store's doors will open at 8pm on Thanksgiving, a full two hours earlier than they opened last year, reports the Wall Street Journal.
